Small Handbags

June 30, 2009

Hi again.
Thought I would show you what I was teaching in my card lesson today. These divine little handbags. Unfortunately I can’t remember the site i got the template from but if I find it I will put a link to it. They were so easy to make and my ladies enjoyed making them. They are perfect for a small gift like a necklace or even a few chocs!!!!.
You could increase the size of the template and perhaps fill it with some small gift cards and envelopes. I am going to that in a future lesson so I will post the photos when I do it.
You need to use a fairly sturdy card so anything from K & co, Basic Grey etc would be fine. I think it would look so elegant in black and white too.
I would love to know what you think of them. Please leave a comment

Sugar Bowl challenge 13 – Lilian’s sketch

June 30, 2009

Did you watch the tennis last night? It was really good. The latest match ever and so tense.
Hope the weather is better by you than it is here in Wolverhampton.
This is a card I made very quickly for the the Sugar Bowl challenge. I’m not happy with it. I should have thought about it more and looked through my stash of paper rather than use the first ones I came across.
Anyway I shall enter it and see what happens.
Speak to you soon.

P.S. In case you’re wondering where the colour Kraft is, it’s on the edge of the Gorjuss girl Dress and on her tights!!!

Just Magnolia challenge week 11 Bev’s sketch

June 29, 2009

Hi everyone
Hope you all had a good weekend. Today has been gloriously hot but as I start to type my blog the rain has started and so has the thunder.
Well I’m still shocked about the news about Michael Jackson. What will happen to his children? And Farrah Fawcett Majors too. I remember watching Charlies Angels in the 70’s. Everyone wanted her hairstyle. It didn’t look right unless you were blonde. Sad times.
Well Daniel has done 3 days of his new job. All is going well.
Are any of you going to the Newbury Craft show on Saturday 4th July? If you are come and say Hello to me at The Hotshots stand where I will be demonstrating Promarkers used with the air system and Wild Rose Studio Stamps. Hotshots are sponsers for the Passion for Promarkers challenge
Well here is my entry for the Just Magnolia challenge week 11 Bev’s sketch. As it is nearly the end of term I used Best Teacher as my sentiment and Tilda as a schoolgirl standing in front of a desk.
Please leave a comment about it as I am feeling lonely!!!

Just Magnolia challenge week 10 Summer

June 25, 2009

Hi
Lovely weather again. Hope you are all having a lovely day
Daniel starts his job this afternoon so I am going to give him a good lunch and then drop him off at work. At work how weird does that sound. It only seems like yesterday he was my beautiful baby boy!!!!
Well back to all things crafty. Here is my entry for the Just Magnolia challenge. The theme is summer and I have used Tilda in a swimsuit. I followed the out of bounds Nestie tutorial by Rach (Papercrafts by Rach). It really is an effective way of combining stamps and nesties.
The papers I bought were on sale and are by Basic Grey. The flowers are Papermania and American Crafts.
Please leave me a comment and let me know what you think.

Golden Anniversary card

June 23, 2009

Hi
As promised here are some photos of the Boxed card I made for my parents 50th Anniversary. My mum is a card maker too so I wanted to make them a really special one. The box was a covered one I bought from Hobbycraft. It was reduced to 99p!!!
The papers I think are DCWV. The front stamped image is Hanglar and Stanglar and the stamped sentiments are Tim Holtz and Anna Griffin. The poems were free of the internet by Joanna Fuchs. There are several to choose from, so I just picked the most appropriate.
Please let me know what you think of it.

Whiff of Joy challenge #34

June 15, 2009

Hi everyone
Hope you all had a good weekend. We had a girlie night last night. Hair and makeup, games and food and drink!!!
The ages ranged between 16 and late 50’s. We had such fun. The next time we do this the girls who did the makeup will be the ones to get made up. Then we had a bit of 70’s disco to finish off the evening.
Well here is my card for the Whiff of Joy challenge.
I decided on bright oranges and I used the colour theme of pumpkin and cinnamon from this weeks Promarker challenge
I quite like this one, hope you do too.
Love Sarah XXX
p.s. It’s my parents 50th Wedding Anniversary next week so I need to get on with a special card for them. I’ll show it to you as soon as I have done it.

Promarker challenge #3

June 12, 2009

Hi everyone
Seems ages since I last left a post.
I must have been very busy doing housework or something (lol).
I eventually made a card for the Promarker challenge #2 but by the time I could get on the computer to post it the time was up.
This is my entry for challenge #3.
I have used the colours of the week:
pumpkin
cinnamon

The papers are from my stash and the flower is made from my Whale of a punch retro flower and the xcut flower shape.
The larger flower is punched from a cheap dictionary I bought which I keep specifically for punching flowers. The flower center is a candy dot. I have used a Magnolia stamp ( the other colours used are – ivory, satin, cool grey 2, vanilla). I have used my Nesties and the sizzix large heart die.
Hope you like this.
