Promarker challenge #1 card no.2

May 27, 2009

This card was made with Claudia the artist stamp from Funky Kits. I made the card blank myself with plain white card. I used the Martha Stewart border punch to give the fancy edging – cheaper than buying scalloped edged card blanks!!!
I then used the Denim Distress ink on a piece of cotton wool and dabbed it around the edges of the card and around the stamped image. I used textured card and then sanded it to give the aged look tom it. The flowers were from my stash.
The Promarker colours I used were;
pastel blue

Passion for Promarkers challenge #1

May 27, 2009

Hope you have all had a good Bank Holiday. We were up at 4.00 a.m. this morning to take our daughter Emma to B/ham airport as she goes off on holiday with some friends and their children. Bet they have better weather than us!!!
Well this new challenge blog looks really good. As you know I tried out for the DT but never got in, although they have said I can be a future Guest designer. Can’t wait for that.
As they have said you can enter as many times as you like I will submit the following cards ( I have so many coloured in with Promarkers!!!! dozens of them…)
Hope you like them.

Sugar Bowl challenge no.11

May 21, 2009

Final card for the day. My craft equipment is always ready and waiting for me in the kitchen. So in
between cooking and doing other housework I can make cards. Makes housework more bearable!!
There’s an interesting sketch on the sugar Bowl challenge and there is an addition of pearls. The DT cards are all lovely. This is my take on the sketch.

Basic Grey challenge #35

May 21, 2009

I’ve been defrosting the freezer. I kept putting it off but I’ve finally done it. In between I have made this card for the Basic Grey challenge. The theme is Ice cream and I just happened to have a sheet of their paper with ice creams and cakes on it. I have used 3 different colours of flowers as they remind me of Neapolitan and mint flavoured ice creams. Good enough to eat !!!!
The stamp is a Sarah Kay stamp of a girl with an ice cream in her hand. How appropriate!!

Whiff of Joy challenge #31

May 21, 2009

another dreary wet day in Wolverhampton.
Thank you for the lovely comments and whilst other bloggers are celebrating their blogaversaries or hitting so many thousand hits, I hope to soon celebrate 100 hits!!!!. That’s really exciting for me.
This card is my entry for the Whiff of Joy Challenge. I have just had 3 of their stamps and wish I had known about the possibility of pre-ordering the Summer collection. I would definitely had ordered them. Oh well maybe next time.
On this card I have used Basic Grey and flowers from Poppicrafts. What a great shop!
I have used the stamp masking technique that I have recently been teaching in card lessons. The brick wall behind Willow is a Magnolia stamp and of course I have used Promarkers.
Unfortunatelty I never made it onto the Passion for Promarkers design team but they have asked me to be a guest designer in the future which I am looking forward to.

Friday Sketchers challenge

May 19, 2009

Just had a lovely card lesson using Sugar Nellie and Magnolia stamps. I’ve been showing my ladies how to mask when stamping.
The card below is my entry for The Friday Sketchers challenge. I got in a bit of a mess with my shading and blending on her dress. (I’ts meant to look like that really!!!). Still it looks okay – I think.

Just Magnolia challenge #5

May 17, 2009

Hello again
The sketch for the “Just Magnolia” challenge was so lovely that I got carried away and made 4 cards using that sketch. Below are 3 I have made with the Magnolia stamped image. So, I have to decide which one to submit.
The first card “Innocent young boy” is made with K & Co papers, and I have used Raffia instead of flourishes or leaves.
On the second card, “Dream” I can’t remember which papers I used. They may be K & Co too. I also used lace, buttons and those beautiful flowers again.
The third card ” My special you” was also K & Co papers, (Do you see a theme here?). The flowers are ones I had Years ago when Lakeland Plastics used to sell craft items. I have put them through an embossing folder and gently shaped the petals on the larger flower. The gems are from Poundland. I’m a very cheap girl !!!
My daughter reckons I should submit Dream to the Just Magnolia challenge. So iIll give it a go. Enjoy the rest of your weekend

May 17, 2009

Hi everyone
Thankyou for all the lovely comments on my last post.
Well its rained all weekend here in Wolverhampton and the conservatory has leaked again, the kids both feel ill and I haven’t lost any weight!!! Still I had 2 lovely card lessons yesterday. I had them making cards using the “Just Magnolia” challenge sketch. And some lovely cards they made too.
The card below is one I have made for my Brother in law and his wife for their anniversary this month. I have used the challenge sketch on this card but can’t enter it as it isn’t a Magnolia image. I will show you my entry in my next post. I have used K& Co papers, Promarkers (of course), Lace, brads and flowers. This had been a great sketch to work with.

Stampacular Sunday Challenge

May 14, 2009

Hi again,
Two more cards I have done today.
The first one is a “Gorjuss girl” coloured with my usual Promarkers. This is based on the sketch For the Stampacular Sunday challenge. The sentiment is a rub on from DCWV that I have bought from Artymiss as they are on offer.
The second card is using the free download from Melstampz. I have coloured this one in blues. The card I made for the Basic Grey challenge was in reds and pinks. I think this is a lovely image and can be used for so many different occasions. I have then covered the flowers in Glossy Accents.
Love to know what you think of them
